Alabama State has a date with SEC power Alabama in the NCAA baseball tournament.
If Alabama State (41-16), winners of the SWAC East Division for the second straight season, runs the table in the upcoming conference baseball tournament, the Hornets are expected to face No. 24 Alabama in the Tuscaloosa Regional of the 64- team field, according to the projection of D1Baseball.com.
The regional would also include Southern Miss and Arizona State.

There remains fluidity with the hosting situation. There is ONE new team in the field and some minor seed changes.

Alabama State is riding on a high after rallying to score five runs in the bottom of the ninth on Thursday to beat Florida A&M 9-8 in the second day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.
“We talk about being resilient. We played nine full innings all year. It’s about being competitive to the last out. We fought all the way. It was fun to watch and be a part of,” said Alabama State baseball head coach Jose Vazquez.
The Hornets will play the Rattlers in a rematch on Friday afternoon.
