With the stunning firing of Mike Bohn, the USC Trojans are suddenly looking for another athletic director. Until recently, the situation was a closed book, but now the school has to conduct another search. Let’s continue exploring some possible candidates.
This time we’re looking at Heather Lyke from Pittsburgh. She joined Pitt in 2018 and signed a six-year deal that expires in 2024, so leaving Pitt for USC makes absolute sense, especially with the Trojans heading into the Big Ten.

Pitt just made it to the NCAA Tournament in men’s basketball and has had some decent years on the football field. The Panthers thrived in 2021, winning the ACC Championship and earning a New Year’s Six bowl thanks to players like Kenny Pickett and Jordan Addison, who have found a home in the NFL.
Stewart Mandel of The Athletic named Lyke as a candidate for the job, and she also spent nearly two decades at Ohio State, which is clearly remarkable.
More details came out about Bohn’s resignation, so USC has a lot of things to sort out. Heather Lyke should be on the candidate list for USC President Carol Folt.
