As the Oklahoma Sooners stage their super-regional matchup with the Clemson Tigers in an effort to defend their back-to-back national championship titles, they bid farewell to the place they’ve called home for the past 25 years.
With Oklahoma’s Love’s Field opening in time for its 2024 home game, the Sooners will play their final series at Marita Hynes Field in Norman. It has been home to national champions and national players of the year. It’s been where Patty Gasso established the legend that made her the face of college softball.

I really can’t put into words what it means to me to be an Oklahoma Sooner Softball player! This place and people have changed my life in more ways than I can imagine and I am so thankful for this program💐✨ @OU_Softball Girl -> WOMAN https://t.co/CwrNwUX0RZ

This one location created memories for players, fans, coaches and more.
But in the end, it helped propel some of the best teams and players the sport has ever seen. And in turn helped grow the game.
Boomer earlier, Marita Hynes. You will be missed.
Thank you https://t.co/ioT0o72Ofj

As a fan I know saying goodbye to this stadium this weekend will be emotional… but messages from former players here… whole new level. This is what OU Softball is all about. Softball is just the game that brought them together. This program turns girls into women the right way. https://t.co/pdWzuwQnOx

“So whether it looks nice or not, whether it has enough seats or not, it’s still where this program was born. My memories will live on here forever. This is home. It will always be home.”#Sooner look to send Marita Hynes Field out with a bang.https://t.co/I7Iyh4QBWD

Covered many games here at Marita Hynes Field.
Feel some extra juice from the fans here in the first one.
The team asked for it, and both the #Sooner and Clemson fans have delivered
