The first Auburn Tiger to be taken in the 2023 NFL draft is EDGE Derick Hall.
Hall was selected with the 37th overall pick by the Seattle Seahawks. His selection ended the Seahawks’ trade with the The Denver Broncos for quarterback Russell Wilson. As part of the trade, The Sea hawks received first-round and second-round picks in the 2022 and 2023 NFL drafts, a fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft, as well as QB Drew Locke, DL Shelby Harris, and TE Noah Fant.

Patrick Conn of College Sports Wire says the Seahawks filled an important need by drafting Hall.
After tackling the cornerback and wide receiver positions on day one, the defense gets a much needed boost with Hall. He will be disruptive in the backfield with sacks, tackles for losses and forced fumbles.
Hall was joined by friends and family at his home in Gulfport, Mississippi to watch the draft. After his name was called, the party started. Here’s the first look at Hall’s reaction to 37th overall by the Seahawks, filmed by WXXV-TV’s Jeff Haeger.
